Perhaps the third time was the charm when it comes to Becky. The unhinged, Nazi-fighting child returns with her wildest adventure yet. The Last Temptation of Becky is a continuation of the 2020 film, and mostly uses its sequel as a launching pad rather than a direct thread. The movie instead specifically acknowledges the first film’s ending, and the motivations of the Nazi thugs who were trying to obtain a mysterious key from the home of Becky‘s family. This three-quel actually shifts the action to a global setting. Director Jenn Wexler, who made the spectacularly underrated The Sacrifice Game back in 2023, brings a feminist edge. Driven by trauma and the rage of a robbed childhood, The Last Temptation of Becky is a Nazi-massacring good time at the movies, and a total crowd pleaser.

In the time since The Wrath of Becky, Becky (Lulu Wilson) has been recruited into the CIA by her handler, Montana (Kate Siegel). She works closely with her partner, Rigby (Brandon Flynn), but Becky‘s skills seem to clash with the strict nature of CIA operative work. Becky is the type to immediately jump to a plan C to fix a problem. Her explosive nature makes her both an asset and a liability to the company. A new mission, though, may play upon Becky‘s assassin capabilities. The CIA director sends Becky off on a sort of last ditch effort to get her to play by the rules. Not even Rigby can follow her there.
Becky’s mission: collect intel on Wilhelm Reuss and what he’s doing under a bunker connected to The Wolf’s Lair Inn. They send Becky to Poland to infiltrate the ranks of this notorious Nazi leader, one who may be connected to her past. Played by Neil Patrick Harris, Wilhelm is theatrical and cutthroat, making for a perfect foil against Becky. She has faced some great foes in the past, but Wilhelm is arguably one of the most lethal. The two engage in a battle of wits almost from the outset. This gives both Harris and Wlison plenty of space to play in the Becky sandbox.

While the first Becky was more of a straightforward revenge flick, following a young girl’s survival after her father gets brutally murdered, the sequel took a detour that mostly left me feeling empty, even if it was fun to revisit this character years later. 2026’s The Last Temptation of Becky, though, is a different beast entirely. Finally, the script has been alchemized into a ridiculously fun, stupidly hilarious Nazi horror/action flick. The pulpy nature would fit perfectly amongst the ranks of 80s sleaze. While Becky’s trauma comes to the forefront, returning to the source of the key itself brings back the most interesting part of Becky’s story in the first place.
For years, we have longed to know exactly what that key was for that Kevin James so viciously wanted to obtain. Now, we finally have the answers. They are just as preposterously silly as I had hoped. As the possibility of a “Fourth Reich” comes closer to reality, Becky must use her skills and channel her inner rage to have any hope of survival. The lovable mix of dark comedy blends perfectly with the gory excess of Becky‘s most entertaining indulgences. While the acting may not be Oscar-caliber, it doesn’t need to be either. This is simply a fun movie, one that understands exactly what audiences have come to see. The final act in particular fully leans into the spectacle and the “fuck Nazis” energy.

Still leaving room for a fourth entry, The Last Temptation of Becky doesn’t exactly feel like a final chapter. Yet, it could certainly function as such. The story comes full circle in a satisfying way, finally giving us answers to questions we have had all along. Becky comes face-to-face with the trauma of losing her father, the reality of her explosive behavior patterns, and the straightforward nature of her desire to fully avenge her family. As Becky, Lulu Wilson has now grown into a full-fledged woman.
Though the film lacks the same bite as watching a younger character do all of the dirty work, a la Hit Girl in Kick-Ass, this was undoubtedly my favorite of the three Becky entries. There’s something deeply satisfying about watching Becky‘s quest for vengeance, and how seamlessly she takes down her enemies. I also could have used a little more Brandon Flynn and Kate Siegel added into the proceedings. Becky manages to burst with creative energy, cool gadgets, and plenty of gory kills to satiate the hungry bloodlust of any horror fanatic. What comes next then, The Resurrection of Becky?
